The goddess Kali is a Hindu goddess associated with death, time and doomsday, as well as fertility, creativity, and feminine energy. It is this balance of life and death that warrants her title as the Goddess of Beginnings and Endings.
The most recognizable image of Kali is one that is associated with her violent, darker side. Wearing a necklace of heads and a skirt of arms, she is often portrayed as being in battle, her tongue lolling from her mouth and a bloody knife in one hand.
Kali is also known as the Goddess of Transformation, a title that she has earned in more recent years due to the relevance of her involvement in our lives today. She comes to us at times of great change, growth and development in our lives, pushing us outside of comfort zone and motivating us to take the necessary steps to discover and accept the truth of who we really are.
The truth is, that while we may want and even NEED to grow, the process may not necessarily be enjoyable. Kali comes to us to shed light in areas in our life that are holding us back, times of pain that we are holding onto from our pasts and negatives influences that we have welcomed into our lives. This act of cleansing our lives from negativity can be challenging and difficult.
Often, we will need to face memories and emotions that we have previously kept buried, moments that have welcomed negative energies into our lives. These negative attachments have been acting like a toxin, slowly poisoning every area of our lives. It is only by working through and releasing this negativity that we can truly begin moving towards our true potential in life.
While Kali can be welcomed into our lives at any time, the year 2017 is particularly powerful. To understand the true power of this calendar year we must understand it’s importance in numerology. The universal energy for the year can be assessed through breaking down the number.
