We spend our lives making choices that follow us for the rest of our lives. And while these choices can sometimes benefit us, there are choices that haunt us for the rest of our lives.

Many of these choices may seem like the best decision at the time, we later learn that our judgment may have been skewed.

12 Things You Might Be Doing Right Now That You Will Regret In The Future:

1. Refusing to go after what you want.

If you are currently refusing to go after what you want in life the future you is not going to be happy. In life, you need to live things to the fullest and be the person you want to be. Live the life you want to live.

2. Being far too selfish.

If you are currently being too selfish you will regret it in the future. We all need to help one another. The people in your life will not want to be around you if you are too selfish, and you will force yourself into isolation through being overly selfish.

3. Wearing a mask to fit in.

If you are currently wearing a mask to fit in with the people around you, the future you will be disappointed. In this life, we are all our own people and no one truly fits in. Being yourself is the most important thing in this life, if you are not you then things will never truly work. The surrounding people should like you for who you are not who you pretend to be.

4. Refusing to embrace change.

If you are currently terrified of change and refusing to allow it to happen, you are setting yourself up to fail. Your future self will look back and wish he or she had been more open to the possibilities before him or her. Do not be the kind of person that holds his or herself back.

5. Living the dreams of someone else.

If you are currently living the dreams of someone else or following in the footsteps of someone you don’t want to be following you need to stand up for yourself and chase your own dreams. You are your own person and chasing the dreams of others won’t get you anywhere. Happiness is important and if you’re not going after what you want to go after you will never be happy.

6. Allowing toxic people in your circle.

If you are currently allowing toxic people in your life, you are going to end up quite devastated once they hurt you in the ways they intend to. Toxic people should not be allowed in our inner circle. They do no good and only wish to use us.

7. Settling for less than you deserve in general.

If you are currently settling in life your future self will regret it. You should be going after your dreams and doing what you feel you need to do. This life is far too short for you to settle, be and do what you want.

8. Giving up when times get tough.

If you are currently the kind of person who gives up when times get tough you need to grow a backbone. Stand up for yourself and do not give up. Things will get better, just because it is hard does not mean it is not worth it.

9. Being too lazy.

If you are currently being overly lazy and wasting the days before you, your future self will be quite devastated in the end. We only get one life and if you waste yours you don’t get a second chance. Laziness is a waste of time relax when it is needed but don’t sleep your life away.

10. Overthinking literally everything.

If you are currently overthinking things too often you need to stop. Your future self already knows how little good this kind of thing does. In the end, overthinking only forces us to be more upset without reason.

11. Letting others walk all over you.

If you are currently letting other people walk all over you, you need to stand up for yourself. Other people should not be making your decisions or taking control of your life. Your future self wants you to really take the reins and be who you need to be.

12. Refusing to be mindful when it’s needed.

If you are currently obsessed with the past or the future you need to make some changes. Be more mindful and allow yourself to be in the moment. At the end of the day, the moment is all we have.
