We all think of ourselves in different ways. Whether you have a positive outlook on yourself or a negative one, chances are you could use these ‘truths.’

In this life, we are all far harsher on ourselves than we are on others and it really shouldn’t be that way. We make ourselves feel small when we are at our worst and hardly ever really build ourselves up the ways we do other people. Why is this?

Why is it that we can think of a long list of things we don’t like about ourselves and yet not of the things we like? The way you view yourself matters and the more positive you are the more positive your life will be. Below I am going to go over some of the truths that you should make sure to remember in your life. These things will help you grow more so than you know.

12 Truths That Will Really Change The Way You View Yourself:

1. Sometimes you can see much more clearly from a distance.

Sometimes taking a step back makes a huge difference in the way you see things. If you are struggling taking a step back will make things better big time. Don’t hesitate to give yourself a break.

2. It is never too late.

There is no such thing as too late. You can always chase your dreams and you can always achieve your goals. You just have to try hard enough.

3. Sometimes you’re not going to feel alright and there is nothing wrong with that.

You are going to have good days and bad days. Not everything in life is wonderful. Sometimes there will be pain.

4. No matter where you are, you have come a long way from where you were.

You have come a long way even if you’re not where you want to be just yet. Don’t sell yourself short, because you have done so much in your life.

5. You are not defined by the things that have happened to you.

The things that have happened to you in your life do not define who you are. You are your own person. You do not have to get so stuck on the past.

6. You are more than your mistakes.

You are not the mistakes you have made. You are so much more than you think. Stop focusing on the negative.

7. The opinions others have of you do not matter.

The opinions other people have of you don’t make up who you are. Their opinions should not matter to you. You know your truth.

8. The harder you search for happiness the more unhappy you will become.

True happiness comes from within; you cannot find it in another person. Searching for it is only going to make you feel worse in the long run.

9. The past and the future do not exist.

The past and future are nothing. The present and right now is all that matters. Don’t obsess over things that you cannot control.

10. There is nothing wrong with being a little broken.

We are all a little broken! There is nothing wrong with being a bit out of whack or broken. You will be able to heal yourself when the time comes.

11. Perfection does not exist.

There is no such thing as perfect. Perfect does not exist and you shouldn’t strive for it. No one is perfect, everyone has their own struggles.

12. You are your own worst critic.

You are the person who tears yourself down the most, and you should not be so hard on yourself. Be your best cheerleader instead of your worst critic.
